Really lovely Michael, those blues are stunning

Excellent painting,I particularly like the way you have depicted the shade on the cottage. The distant headland is done really with, the colours used give the distant look beautifully.

A glorious highland scene Michael. A beautiful brisk blue sea/Loch and strong light.

What a lovely place to be. Love the light on that lovely blue water and the strong shadows in the mid foreground Michael.

Thank you all for your nice comments. I've just come down, bleary eyed, to make a cup of tea and had another look at this - think I could have painted the top half better - not totally happy with the sea and headlands. A second look often destroys one's initial satisfaction!

Lovely painting Michael. The sunlight really sparkles on the water.

Too self critical - all I see is the lovely light, Michael. I'm exactly the same, there's always something not quite as we want it.😊

Thanks Marjorie - yes you are right - I am always not satisfied!

The effect of the clear light is stunning! It is as if you are there on a perfect day. If you have not been to the Outer Hebrides I suggest you go!

Thank you Chris. I've been to Shetland (once) and many a time to Western & Northwestern Scotland but never to the Outer Hebrides; I shall obviously have to pay a visit!

Hang on Studio Wall

An imaginary scene in north-west Scotland dreamed up in the conservatory this morning as the rain hammered down outside. 15x11 in.
