Wonderfully evocative of times past.

Super Michael, very nostalgic.

Lovely work, Michael.

Have a wonderful Christmas Michael, look forward to seeing more of these fabulous paintings from you in 2020!

Thank you all ...... I'm done with wrapping paper ...... shattered and going to bed! Happy Christmas.

Hope you had a good nights sleep :) This is fabulous, Michael. Takes me back to when trains could run even when the wrong type of snow had fallen :)

A great painting done so well. I agree about the smell of steam and grease, I also love the smell that old military aircraft have.

So, so good - I really like this

CJ, Paul and Heather - thank you! And yes I did get a good night’s sleep. Happy Christmas

Thank you Dennis & Margaret. We certainly seemed to get more snow when I was a boy.

Beautiful snow scene, Michael, and great subject.

Thanks Jenny. Fun to paint.

Wonderfully exciting painting Michael; straight out of the nineteen forties. I can hear Dick Batrtons theme music playing in the backgound.... wonderful......(-:

My goodness Jim, that dates you ...... and me! Thank you. Pleased you like it.

Masterly!

Hardly Shirley. But at least not disasterly!

Wow, stunning

This painting is good on so many levels. Can't say any more.

Romila & Clive - so pleased you enjoyed some steam nostalgia.

January 1954 - a steam loco pulls out of Southampton Central Station on a cold snowy late afternoon. Painted this from a photo I found which filled me with nostalgia. I would have been 14 at the time and a very keen trainspotter. Could well have been on the platform at the time! Time fades the memory but who could forget that wonderful oily smell and hissing steam? Happy Christmas everyone and more fun painting in 2020! Mike (aka rossmarie)
