Blue Harbour - watercolour

That's nicely done Michael, simple and highly effective with lots of negative space. Nice work.

Very nice - a simple painting really well executed and I love the colour palette

Thank you Jim & Heather. Hazel Soan is a real inspiration.

Nicely done Michael, I like Hazel Soan’s work too.

Fantastic watercolour, especially the use of light which is beautiful Michael.

A wonderful sparkle to this Michael, the sunlight nearly blinds me!

Thanks Stephen and the two Caroles. (Carole S. - put your sunglasses on!)

Lovely painting of light and sea well captured.

That’s excellent Michael! I’ve been doing something similar ref tonal work, it’s good practice.

Thanks Lesley & Fiona

Works well - great light, Michael

Thanks Maureen - it was fun to paint.

Worked really well - lovely.

Thanks Margaret. Bit of a panic keeping the blue sea moving and at the same time saving unpainted areas!

Lovely watercolour Michael , I have a couple of books by Hazel another fine artist

Thanks Dermot. I like painting water; if I live to 150 I might get half decent at it.

Wonderful Michael, love the colours and light, wish i was there.

Hello Andrew - thank you. Did this one some time ago - surprised to see it surface again!

This almost monochromatic study is based on a painting demonstration by Hazel Soan in a recent edition of 'The Artist'. So no marks for originality but I enjoyed having a go at it. The difficulty is leaving enough unpainted paper around the edges of the boats and my hand could be steadier. Fun to try something different. 15x11 in. on Arches 300lb NOT.
