Ploughing down the Channel

Ploughing down the Channel

A good representation Michael. like the way you have painted the sky and sea

Great sea and sky Michael. I love ship pictures, boats and harbours and this is terrific.

It reminds me of the poem " Cargoes" by John Masefield that we learned at shool....(-:

I've seen that scene many many times and you've captured it beautifully, you must either have been there or have a very fertile imagination.

Thank you David Jim & Peter. Yes, Jim, Masefield came into my mind too....."dirty British coaster with a salt-caked smokestack butting down the channel......."

Sky ships and sea all well rendered into an attractive image

Thank you Derek, Linda & Margaret. I think the painting looks better small scale - don't think my ship would pass close inspection!

Hang on Studio Wall

Felt in maritime mood this morning so here's an imaginary scene in the English Channel as a ship plies its way westwards and other ships in the distance cross the the Channel to/from France. 14x10 in. on Arches Rough
