Nicely done Michael. The composition really works, with the masts echoing the vertical of the church, and I love the way you've 'lost' the hills in the mist. The shadows balance the whole thing beautifully, too.

Rob & Christopher - thank you both. My reference photo showed a much brighter clear day but I am glad I "did my own thing" with the painting - sure it would have been less successful if I had tried to replicate a photo,

Hang on Studio Wall

Gillan Creek and St Anthony-in-Meneage Church at the entrance to Helford River in Cornwall. The south-west peninsula is quite often plagued by mist and fog and I have tried to show this in my watercolour with the sun breaking through. 14x10 in. on 300lb Arches Rough.
