Mottisfont House Hampshire

beautiful work xx

Lovely pen work Michael, love the brightness.

Great painting, Michael - I love the composition and the different textures of the grass, the tree and the building...

As Fiona has said, there is a lovely quality of light with this Michael, good buildings too.

Thank you all for your kind words. I would like to have sketched this in situ but it was too cold ! So had to make do with a photo and then sketch from that in a warm kitchen!

Beautiful scene Michael.

I like the foreground conifer which leads one in to the Abbey. Nicely painted and you haven't fallen into the trap of capturing too much detail, often a problem of using a source photo.

Thank you Philip. Very easy to fall into the trap of making this wonderful building an architectural drawing rather than a painting.

Hang on Studio Wall

A pen & wash on Arches Rough - 14x10 in.
