Ben Nevis from Loch Eil
This is one of my all-time favourite places to be - on the shores of Loch Eil in Scotland looking towards Ben Nevis. The mood of the place can be so different - sometimes shrouded in mist or rain, sometimes crisp and clear with the land plastered in snow and sometimes so still that the water looks like plate glass and the reflections are so perfect that you really cannot paint them (it would look like a photograph). In this watercolour, I have tried to capture the glint on the water on a fine autumnal day. 14x10 in. on Arches Rough.
