Lovely watercolour Michael - love the sky full of different colours and very atmospheric.

Another great work Michael

Lovely atmospheric piece Michael , i have never been there but i wish i had it looks beautiful, well done mate .

Beautiful Michael, I wish I was there! Perfectly captured that light.

Got to love that sky Michael.

Great sky and a lovely scene

The sky is glorious Michael, a lovely watercolour.

Thank you all for your kind remarks. I was pleased with the sky too. Love painting them for their unpredictability - you can never be sure how they will turn out! Much easier to paint than foregrounds which can be my nightmare; I've ruined many a painting with them.......

I also like that big bright sky Michael and the pale distant shoreline and tiny craft. You have left the foreground simple which works well here. The focal point coastguard building seems a little heavy to me but it would be very dark against that bright sky.

You have a way with skies Michael. This is a peaceful and relaxing scene, and you clearly understand watercolour. Regards John

John - thank you for those comments. I like painting skies - it is the rest that is difficult! Sometimes I think I do not understand watercolour at all but I love painting. I see we are of similar age and both afflicted with eyesight problems but let’s both keep painting as long as we possibly can 😊 Best wishes MichEl

……can’t even write my own name correctly! Michael

Last wednesday was a beautiful day so my wife and I made the car journey of about 20 minutes down to Mudeford at the entrance to Christchurch Harbour in Dorset. Here is the view we saw of the old, black painted, coastguard cottages seen against the light as the last of the ebb tide swirls out to sea behind us, 14x10in. on Arches Rough.
