Evening Market

Love it. It wouldn't have been fun for me to try I can tell you. Some folks just make this type of scene so easy!

Dorothy - I'd forgotten that I had painted this one! Bit of an illusion - not so good as perhaps you may think but also not that difficult to do.From memory, I was trying to paint a rather impressionistic scene wet -in-wet. Some artists are very good at this but it needs practice to get it right - too "wet-in-wet" and you can end up with a sorry mess! Mine ended up rather more realistic than I had intended but not a total disaster.

An imaginary scene which I painted after watching a 30 second video clip of Alvaro Castagnet painting in Berlin. Rather presumptuous of me to even try to paint in his style but I was enthused by what I saw and wanted to have a go at painting fast loose and "gung ho". Painted almost entirely with a sharp pointed large squirrel mop. Fun to do and I may have another try....
