Boats and Ben Nevis - Winter

Lovely painting and great colour Michael

Thanks Dennis. This sea level view is as close to Ben Nevis that I an likely to get now but it is an area close to my heart. I climbed the Ben a couple of times in my youth - once on the annual Ben Nevis Race day when hundreds of young fit men (including quite a few Gurkha soldiers) whizzed up and down the mountain in less time than it took me and companions to slog to the top!

Nice composition and very effective handling of the water Michael. Subtle ranging through the colours.

Hang on Studio Wall

A winter scene at Corpach near Fort William with the bulbous end of Ben Nevis on the right. 14x10 in. on Arches Rough. Painted in the warmth of my kitchen today - not plein air!
