St Thomas's Church towards High Street Lymington - Michael Trask
Where I worked for the last 22 years of my working life. Lymington is a pleasant old market town which some fine old buildings and busy yacht marinas. Sadly, the place is changing in character with too many flats replacing old dwellings and far too much traffic for the road infrastructure to cope with - but I suspect that is the case in many towns. My painting shows the parish church on a fine morning after early rain so the road is still wet. We are looking east into the High Street where a market is held every saturday. From Lymington the ferry runs to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight - another rich source of beautiful locations for us painters. This watercolour is about 16x 12 in. on Bockingford Rough.
