A Sizzler

Not photo'd straight but you get the gist. Needs to be viewed from a distance I think.

It's great Marjorie lovely open space . I can see a nice little Painting as well if it was cropped with the distant dog walkers . I have looked and its great .

Lovely pastel,Marjorie, soft colours are beautiful - I like painting this type of scene - quiet, scenic and memories of walks on the beach.

I find it is a great result, Marjorie.

I don't know anything about pastels or pastelmat but this lovely and the soft colours are so beautiful, Marjorie!

Well I'm seeing quite a bit of potential with it Marjorie, this is really very good indeed, such tranquillity you have captured.

A very painterly result Marjorie

Well, I like the diffuse effect. You've been busy.

Lovel painting l especially like the reflections in the wet sand

Particularly like the foreground in this one.

Hi Marjorie, I like this very much. I have pastelmat, too and have enjoyed trying it out. I havent tried making a wet underpainting yet ( it isnt possible with the sennelier pastel card which I normally use and prefer ) but seeing your painting I definitely will give it a go.

Thanks again everyone.

Hi Judith, I actually loved the way the paint went on (acrylic) , I even thought why not try an acrylic painting on it.

Its super, Marjorie! Love the way you've conveyed the grand scale of the place, and the lovely tranquil atmosphere.

Beautiful painting Marjorie, I'm really enjoying the warmth and glow in this, nice placement of your figures too, works very well.

First use of pastelmat. I like that you can paint a base without it cockling but a smooth result is difficult - this is not there yet, I haven't got to grips with the pastelmat but I can see the potential.
