Getting in before you disappear. As always a good piece of work. And quite right about these stories, not only, having a moral light side, but teeter on the edge of darkness.

Beautifully drawn characters Lew, super illustration work.

I like this as is, Lewis, it doesn't need to be darker. And yes I caught this before it disappeared before 8 . Just looking for my dwarfs....lol

Lovely work Lewis, and still on page 1!

Another excellent image Lewis.

Always such fun and scary at the same time, Lewis!

Thanks very much to all for taking the trouble to comment. Jennifer, I guess it is a little dark, which was my intention. I didn't want it a cosy Disney style. As to whether it should be darker...well, it is what it is now.

Full of character, as usual, Lewis - love the dwarf far right!

I really admire your work, there is a 'little bit extra' within it which you don't often see. It is well executed, colourful and in my opinion, very professional. Well done.

It's superb Lew. Leave the childhood magic alone and paint on. Brilliant work.

Always make us look beneath the surface in your art without being too serious. It’s a great combination Lewis. Always enjoy what you show here.

Your doing well Lew, still on page 1 and its nearly 11.30 LOL!!!, great drawing again, I love your paintings of the old fairy tales, hope you enjoy trying your Inktense out.

Thanks again to everybody for your generous feedback. You're right, Linda, my pic is still on page 1 (just)...I'm surprised. Today, page 1 has one artist making 4 posts and another 3, so I'm lucky to be hanging in there. No complaints of course, that's what the rules allow. I'm going to my art group today, the first time in six weeks, I'm looking forward to playing around with the Inktense pencils.

As is usual with your great artwork the more you look the more you see. Love it.

Yet another brilliantly drawn piece Lewis, I love looking at your work

Love this Lewis, your take on this fairytale is brilliant!

Brilliant and talented Lewis, super illustration.

Brilliant work, Lewis, but have to agree about the dark side and edge to well loved stories!

Just amazing Lewis, what an incredible talent you have, your colours really pop too : )

Thank you Tony for your generous remarks. You've obviously been looking at some old stuff...thanks for that. I must say I find your work admirable and look forward to seeing more.

I like painting these old stories, the concept for this was to make it largely cartoon/caricature style but painted in a realistic way.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
