Well Lewis, I think we will all have a go with Inktense Pencils now, certainly look good fun. Love the 'tigerhorse'!!

Love the drawings, Lewis. As for inktense I am hooked. So versatile, I have the inktense sticks/pastels as well as pan paints. You can even use them on material, so you can (if you have the patience) put you design on fabric, without it washing off.

Great assortment of impressive oddities Lewis. They seem to be very popular these inktense pencils but I find W/c very difficult so don’t think they would suit me.

You certainly got the hang of inktense Lewis, great drawings as always.

Thank you Jennifer and Alan. I think I may well get hooked too, Alan. I already enjoyed using watercolor pencils, but I prefer the ability to add layers that Inktense seems to offer.

They look pretty good Lewis , are they easy to blend. Maybe you could try a line and wash maybe copy say a John hoar to start then move on , I think you could be really good.

Thanks Carole, Carole S, and Dennis. It's very like normal w/clr pencils, with the exception that once dry, it's permanent...at the mo, I think that's a bonus. Dennis, what you see is all I've done, but I'd say yes...they are easy to blend. I did a little blending here, obviously while still wet...can't wait to have another go. I thought John Hoare was a landscape artist, whilst I admire landscape and John's work, I don't do it myself.

Good to see you back Lewis. Enjoying these sketches.

Great start Lew, thought you would like inktense. Like you say, you can add more water for lighter washes. I like them especially because you can sketch out first, I also like using gouache along with them. 😀

Impressive as ever Lew. Nice work.

Looks as though you have the hang of your new pencils already Lewis, great doodles.

These look great, Lewis, judging by all the comments I need to try harder with mine! You've certainly got to grips with them really quickly.Marvellous drawings.

I must get my Inktense pencils out and have another try. Your drawings are super!

Those are excellent Lewis. Inktense seems well worth a "punt".

An interesting selection of characters, Lewis. I've not tried Inktense but these look great!

Thanks again to all those who've been kind enough to comment. It's very much appreciated.

Trying new coloured pencils

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
