Where have you been Lew? I've so missed your almost daily input and great characters. Matter of fact, that fire extinguisher here has just suggested a juxtapositon. Put it beside a fish tank and you have one. Welcome back..(-:

My wife's been very ill, Jim. She's had a bad year. They finally got round to giving her an operation (on 2nd January). It wasn't done locally so that involved much prolonged toing and froing to visit her at the hospital. We'd planned major changes to our kitchen and conservatory...we were going to postpone it, but went ahead thinking my wife would be better off away from all that in hospital. She's a little better, we hope things will improve. The dust has almost settled now, so I'm hoping things will get back to normal...although I have an awful lot of freshly plastered walls to paint. So maybe 'normal' will take a little longer.

Glad to see you posting again Lew, just sent message on forum, I suspect this latest challenge is right up your street, hope things go well for your wife, I'm sure we all wish her a speedy recovery , Linda D

Sorry to hear about your wife, Lewis - hope she makes a quick recovery. Sorry to hear also about all the upheaval. Good to see you back posting. Great image as always :)

Really sorry to hear about your wife Lew. Hope she soon makes progress towards recovery. My wife's at the hospital this afternoon for an assesment of why she can hardly walk and is in constant pain after two knee operations. Not fun for them and a lot of stress for us. I've been run ragged this last month and Wednesday I have a pre op assesmnt myself for a hernia appointment in Feb. Ah well, keep grinning and carrying on. (-:

I missed your funny characters as well, wishing your wife a speedy recovery, Richard. Great pen and wash.Take care.

Ah you've been missed Lewis and it sounds as though you've been having a tough time. Hope your wife is getting better and things get back to normal for you both soon. A bit of warm weather wouldn't go amiss either would it? So many people seem to be poorly at the moment and everything just feels better in the Spring. Look after yourself, the walls can wait!

Good to see your post Lewis and I love the doom and gloom background! I’ve been thinking the juxtaposition challenge has your name on it? Hope your wife is on the mend soon. X Tessa

Thanks to all for your comments and your kind words about my wife.

All best wishes to your wife Lewis, and welcome back with your Monday "funny".

Glad to see you back, Lewis. Hope your wife has a speedy recovery and is feeling a lot better, albeit amongst the dust and upheaval. Great image.

This started as an idea for a New Year resolution, but things have been so hectic at home I've had little time for painting. So this was 'pecked at' over a three week period...very rare for me, I like to finish my stuff quickly...in a day or so. Sorry not to have been commenting.
