It another great painting Lew, I know it not what you wanted but nonetheless it’s a great painting. I don’t think you waffle on about anything, you always have a point to make and it stimulates a response from others. I don’t think any of us are really happy with our own artwork, but accept it as been ok.

Well I think it’s great Lewis. Love the way you’ve managed to give the woman a blueish complexion, which adds to the art-deco look.

Like this a lot Lewis, not sure what you wanted to achieve but you've certainly achieved a very good piece of art!

I really like this, no matter how you arrived at the final painting. Love the graduation of colour on the girl, very effective.

Thanks to all very much for your comments. It was going to be a very flat simplified painting in art deco style, but in the heat everything dried too quickly and I didn't get the look I was after. So I changed it, so although it isn't quite what I intended, it's OK.

A great illustration for the old Gershwin classic musical number, "Rhapsody in Blue", Lewis.Fits the period and lifestyle perfectly. Excellent. I can hear Benny Goodman's clarinet.

Thoughtfully drawn & painted.

The look in the eyes is particularly good. I'd love to see more of this from you Lewis but you give me a laugh with the other stuff and , in the end, we all paint what we want to paint. ( deep philosophical thought here )

Great composition and I love the eyes

Another goodie Lewis.

I really like this Lewis.

Love the composition and colour in this Lewis, it's worked out just great... accidental or otherwise!!

Was intended to have art-deco look. Didn't quite get the flat look I wanted...everything drying too quickly. The background is Doc Martins Coloured Ink, the girl was painted in watercolour and gouache. So, not quite the picture I intended (Often the case). I've been waffling about this in the forum.
