Sleeping woman (after Tamara de Lempicka). Mixed media.

After Lempicka-sleeping woman-framed

I can see why it's framed and on your wall Lewis, it's fantastic. I'd love it on my wall!

It’s lovely, Lewis, such gorgeous colours.

Thank you Russell and Jenny. Glad you like the colours, Jenny. I used an online reference pic...the colours vary some much. In some she had almost white hair, in others vivid blonde. Also I'm not even sure if the image is the right way some versions her head's on the left. In the end I settled for what I liked.

Golden glowing colours. Would suit any wall.

Can see why you like her art and this is very good.

Hang on Studio Wall

Still struggling with motivation, not happy with things I've been doing. So I thought I'd copy something. Lempicka is the Queen of Art Deco painting, I like some of her work. We have a few art deco things in our living room (not enough), so I thought this would be suitable. I forgot to photograph it before putting it in the frame, so here it is on the wall. A few odd reflections in it, but you'll get the idea. 16 x 12 inches. Mixed media.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
