Keep on painting Lewis - sad about your art group, but I think mine is likely to be cancelled for the foreseeable too.

At least we still have inter communication via such sites as this. Certainly must have been a premonition of things to come. Worse before getting better by the sound of it. At least I can still enjoy your work - keep them coming - perhaps with smiles on their faces. All the best

I feel for this clown Lewis, it certainly resonates. We finished our art classes last week for a break. Unfortunately, we've got an exhibition 'planned' for next week. I'm not entirely sure it will go ahead as things are moving so fast on a daily basis. Still, I'm ever the optimist and if the worst comes to the worse re self isolation, it just means I get far more time at home....painting!

Thanks very much for your comments Heather, Mike and Susan. Yes, I'll certainly keep drawing, probably have more time than I do now.

A very appropriate image, Lewis.

He looks like I feel Lewis but on the bright side there will be more painting time. A wonderful portrayal of pathos Lewis.

I so know the feeling, Lewis. Our Life drawing group wont meet...all schools closed. 9 more cases today and from 'internals' not from abroad. Your sad clown expresses all our feelings. Stay safe indoors!

What a sad clown and what a sad state of affairs. You've caught that expression superbly, Lew, with that forlorn mouth belying the clowns painted smile. Bri

Very poignant Lewis and so skilfully done as always. I guess we 'artists' should be grateful as we can at least continue to draw and paint whilst in isolation, prepare for a plethora of still life paintings perhaps!

Excellent Lew, I sometimes wonder what is going on subconsciously when we paint, as you did this your feelings must have influenced the outcome.

Same here. Makes sense. Sad old clown beautifully done Lew.

A very sad situation Lewis, poor sad clown.

He’s wondering if the grass grows greener on the other side of the fence Lewis. Great colouring.

Thank you everybody for your great feedback.

Here's a thing...this is the last thing I drew at our Art Group last week. I must have had a premonition, which obviously accounts for this sad clown. Our group won't meet again until this virus scare is over. (Pen, inktense, watercolor.)

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
