Idiosyncrasies of Mind Lewis. Oh boy what characters.

Education and amusement in one strike - am still working out whether I come under the second category - but I like it.

I know what you mean Lewis, some words I can’t even pronounce never mind know the meaning of. A great painting to explain the emotion......Mr, Bliss and Mr. Grumps.

Nice one Lew, reminds me of a chap I used to know who often wrote to the letters section of the local paper, words miles long, doubt anyone new what they meant and doubt anyone actually cared. :-)

Thank you John, Mike, Fiona and Robert. I have to admit I like the smell of new books - not sure about old ones. I guess I'm about 50% 'misoneist'. I do like my computer and the internet...but they are comfortably old now. Yes Robert, you come across people like that everywhere. The worst example for me was an officer when I was in the services, he littered his speech with mile-long archaic words, quite forgetting he was supposed to be imparting knowledge. When he left the room, the sergeant used to say 'now I'll tell you what he meant.'

Robert's comment prompted me to check if there's a 'word' for people who use long words. There had to be, and there is...it's 'sesquipedalianist'. Serves 'em right. Ironically, the word derives from the Latin for a 'foot and a half long.'

These characters are brilliant creations and drawn beautifully as always Lewis, and oh the smell of a new book, lovely!

Very good Lew. Think my hubby fits the second category!

Love this Lewis. You certainly have got your mojo back. Great characters and so pertinent as we all always stumble upon these characters through life.

Super characterisations, Lewis...and I'm both of those!!

Think I am Bibliosmia Lewis - good as always !

Superbly drawn figures Lew, thanks for the educational information as well.

Had to laugh at the lower one, I've seen him around quite a lot! No, not my hubby.

Great paintings and words!

Something I did a couple of months back, not sure how much interest it will have. A minor peeve of mine - when a writer dumps a word that you have to look up (Well, I do). I'm all for improving my vocabulary, but I'm unlikely to use these in conversation. The drawings are pen and inktense colored pencils, compiled in photoshop.

Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
