The outline was a good addition Lew, it's quite stunning with those colours.

It’s a lovely piece Lewis

Love this, Lewis!

Keep those beauties coming Lewis.

Having been to a Mucha exhibition I'd say that yours is as good, if not better, Lewis. Love it.

Beautiful work Lewis 😀

Fabulous painting Lewis and the colours are sumptuous.

Thank you everybody for your encouraging comments. Val...I wish that were true...Mucha's paintings are a little too subtle for me to get right, and his assured line work is inspirational...but very nice of you to make such a comment.

Outstanding and eye-catching Lewis.

Another cracker from the palette of Lew. Great work again. Bri

She’s gorgeous Lewis!

Brilliant eye-catcher Lew. Beautifully drawn and worked. Needs displaying in a prominent place.

Nice one Lewis- solid black line around the figure works really well.

Was lucky enough to work in Prague and visit the Mucha museum and St Vitus’ s Cathedral where his stained glass windows are phenomenal. It is lovely to see your work here so beautiful and skilfully painted, a reminder of earlier days Lewis.

Hang on Studio Wall

A recent reshuffle left the pictures in my spare bedroom looking odd. I have two Mucha style pictures, and needed a third. After a couple of aborted attempts to make one up, I copied the girl from one of Mucha's paintings. I changed quite a lot, but it's still heavily Mucha. He usually added a thick black outline around his makes them pop. I wasn't intending to do this, but it didn't look right, so I put the outline in place. Watercolour, a little Inktense, Gouache and pen.

About the Artist

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
