I was a politician - a party agent and sometime (failed) candidate: and this is very accurate - unfair, I mean, ignore that slip.....! We strive incessantly for the common weal, sincerity oozing from every pore, with only the faintest suggestion of sulphur and the cloven hoof. And I think I've met all three of these...

Thanks very much for all your comments...I'm a bit surprised for a simple sketch. I did say it was little unfair on the three who turned up on my doorstep. I've been through many elections in my time, and their visit was only the second time I'd been canvassed.

It's funny what sparks a drawing. At the last election three people appeared on my doorstep asking for support for the sitting MP. He has such a large majority he's unlikely to lose. I hadn't had a visit like this for ages. The way things are we may well be having another election soon, so I thought I'd post it. In fairness, they didn't look like this...but they did have a fairly earnest gaze.
