Very like the old saucy postcards - without the sauce!

Lol.....love your style Lewis. So much to look at and it’s a window onto life.

Superb capture of characters.

Thank you Adele, Fiona and Derek, for your kind remarks. It's generous to call my picture 'a window onto life', that's why I'm a big fan of cartoonists like Rowlandson, Peter de Seve, Ronald Searle and Beryl Cook. They often depict everyday life better than the realists. (but that's just what I think).

Brings back the spirit of Bamfords with heir seaside postcards. Like it.

Brilliant, really like the old postcards, love it!

I'm sure I know those people...... Like all of your work on show today.

Brilliant work Lewis. All your work is. With this one, the world isn’t linear or ordered, it's chaotic and complex and Rackham obviously saw this.

Wow! Fabulous work and imagination, Lewis. What medium is this, please? Whatever it is, it is expertly used by you.

Jennifer, it's mainly watercolour with some touches of gouache. Thanks for you kind comments.

Fabulous the colour is amazing

Whilst reading a book about one of my favorite artists (Arthur Rackham), I suddenly realised he'd ignored the rules of 'eyeline/horizon and perspective' in a few of his paintings. So I thought I'd have a go with this beach scene. It would be impossible to view a scene like this in real life. I guess I get away with it (if I do), because it's in cartoon style.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
