Superb, obviously would make a great Christmas card.

Great painting as usual Lewis. Nice to see him in green as well, because red outfits are a modern incarnation.

Brilliant Lew. I've always liked the Good King Wenceslas song and legend which seems to be in cinq with St ( Santa) Nicholas. All magical inspiration subjects. Lovely.

Love this colourful character and the way you have painted the snow, a difficult task Lewis.

Thanks very much for the feedback Stephen, Alan, Jim and Carole. Yes Alan, the Santa Claus outfit of red and white was first done by an American illustrator back in the 1920s (maybe earlier), then Coca Cola produced their own version. The really early images of Saint Nicolas depict him pretty much like any bishop.

Brilliant drawing; wonderful colours; full of character; so different, but I love it.😄

Excellent. I know you're not a fan of toned paper either but used like this you can't go wrong.

A fantastic image Lewis and what a great card this would make.

Great imaginative image as ever Lewis

This would make a great Christmas card Lewis.

Hope he’s got lots of art goodies in that sack for you Lewis....I like your version of St. Nick!

I knew the 4th was important in some way. Just great work.

A fabulous piece of work Lewis, I can only echo what others have said, it would make a super card.

In some European countries, this character, on the 4th December, is said to place gifts under the pillows of good children...and dried twigs under the pillows of bad ones. Our Father Christmas and Santa Claus are supposed to derive from him. Images of St. Nicolas vary, he's sometimes shown with a bishop's mitre...I've just made something up.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
