Wonderful expression Lewis.

Another brilliant character Lewis. Sound like a tv comedy sketch Lewis..you asking for a dollop spoon!

A dollop spoon and four candles....great stuff Lew. (-:

Thank you Sandra, Louise and Jim for your comments on this piece of nonsense. This sort of thing is all I have time for at the moment. I find a pen outline with water-soluble pencil shading and quick and pleasant way to sketch.

Thank you for making me laugh Lewis. Wonderful work as usual.

As usual a great idea and drawjng - made me smile. Think the newspapers have missed out on a great cartoonist :) I love the idea of a dollop spoon - mind you, you would need a range for me: wee dollop, dollop and big dollop!

Excellent drawing, and great humour that made me laugh. She'll be sending you for a bucket of steam next. *smile* Bri

Just tried out the 'wrong hand' pen drawing that you mentioned Lewis. I though it might be easy but It was impossible. A shaky left hand, wobbly lines, evil looking faces and an absolute mess. Impossible for me but so interesting to try. When I think about it, I always start drawings on the left side and work to the right . I wouldn't attempt the 'wrong' way. I'm right handed obviously but it's made me think .. lol

Thanks again to all who've taken the time to comment. And Louise, I've found my wrong hand drawing...I'll post it.

Brilliant drawing and wonderful write up. Could have been the basis of a good "sketch" for the two Ronnies.

Wonderful expression of complete befuddlement, Lewis! Edward Lear journeyed to Malta and Gozo, we had an exhibition of his superb drawings recently in the Cittadella. He would be horrified at his favourite sites nowadays! Not least our beloved lost Azure Window

I love this Lewis! As for the dollop spoon I know exactly what you mean, in fact I use one for dishing out ice cream😂😂

Another memorable creation Class act

'Runcible', a word invented by Edward Lear in his nonsense poems. ('The Owl & the Pussycat' etc). He doesn't make it clear what it means...he refers to a runcible hat, a cat, even a wall, most famously a runcible spoon. So it doesn't exist. My wife sometimes referred to a 'dollop' of this and that. 'Where's our dollop spoon?' said I. 'Lost.' said she, and dispatched me to the local cutlery shop for another. The proprietor told me, '...there ent no such fing.' Imagine my chagrin.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
