Sketches from A4 sketchbooks.
Comments the name's KURASOV.

Good news Lewis, I realised it was a horse !. Good selection of differing subjects.

Hi Lew, I'd say Mack comes second in order of fright power to the top lady, then the horse. (-: Great to see all of them and the Kurasov lady is very well done.

Love them all Lewis.

Love them all Lewis, your horse from imagination looks fabulous!

Thanks to all who looked and commented, very kind.

All good stuff Lewis especially the Kuasov lady. The lady top right looks like a lady I know ... we call her scary Mary...!!!

Hang on Studio Wall

A few sketches done recently. The horse is drawn from memory...I like to do that sometimes...don't always get them right. When I checked a ref pic I found I'd got the neck muscles wrong. But not too bad. The colour pic is after an artist I like - Georgy Kuravov - he paints in a distinctive style that I like, I may do a painting in his style for the fun of it. The fellow bottom right was done after listening to the divine Ella singing 'Mack the Knife', thought I have a go at depicting old McHeath. (A nasty piece of work from the Three-penny Opera.)

About the Artist

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
