Sketchbook - girl-tree.

Interesting, just as most sketchbooks are Lew. Lots of good things that don't always get followed up, but that's all part of the fun. That tree has great possibilities as the foreground of something/somewhere? Keep it rolling.

Lovely drawiings. The tree reminds me of one that used to grow just down the road from my house, until someone decided to "tidy" it up, so sad.

I like this Lewis, I see the tree and the girl in reverse, they both have the same lean, I think if you could incorporate them into one painting you would have a winner, just a thought 😁

Two wonderful drawings Lew, I especially love that tree.

Thanks as ever for your comments. Yes, Linda, I often come up with pictures from images in my sketchbooks. When I sketch it's usually the first thing that pops into my head, but sometimes they spark paintings.

Love tree, Lewis.

Lovely to see this idea in the making, superb girl/tree!

The tree is superb Lewis, lovely detail and the girl looks marvellous!

Two super sketches Lewis, love the tree especially.....I can see one or two faces in that too.

Fabulous sketches and great for memories

More from my sketchbook...that's all I seem to do lately. The girl is intended to have classical features - coloured pencil. The tree is in pencil...largely made up, although I took some reference from some old tree trunks in my garden (I like them, they seem sculptural to me.) This is my A5 sketchbook, the paper is a bit thin and wrinkles with watercolour...but no matter, it's just sketchbook ideas.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
