It is different from your normal work, Lewis, but beautiful. I think there is a Deco feel to it, particularly the black scrolling in the background.

Unless you had put the suggestion of Art Deco in my mind I am not sure that I would have come up with it. However it is dramatic andI love the flower. Certainly different to your usual drawing /paintings.

I think Jeeves and Worcester made me fall in love with deco, though I am with you in not really being able to define it too well. This is good in any case, super precision in the flower.

Thanks for your comments Seth and Tony. I feel the same as Tony, as an art deco pic it doesn't work, I thought I'd post it because it's OK even it it didn't work out as intended. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned Deco in my description, and then seen if anyone thought it was Deco.

I agree that it is a striking composition and love the flower detail.

Drama and detail personified. Art Deco, maybe not, but it's a terrific piece of work in itself,

"A rose, by any other name smells just as sweet" Lewis. However you categorise it, it's very good.

Its a lovely piece of work Lewis, it has got a deco feel to it, very striking.

That is very vibrant and lovely Lewis and I love the flower too. Her face reminds me of someone but I don't know who.

Love the style and the lily is wonderful!

Good style - like it, Lewis

I like Art Deco, and have been looking at such art on the net, trying to analyse how it's done. Some artists paint parts of the picture in detail, and have flat colours elsewhere. I've tried to do that here (I haven't copied another artists' painting, merely tried to use their techniques). The girls face was taken from a copyright free photo. I don't think it comes across as Deco, but it's a tad different from my usual work.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
