Sorry...forgot to say... the book, and film, was 'The Name of the Rose.'

An excellent and enjoyable historical film it was too Lewis. What a great idea to reach back so far. This should be a great series.

Excellent painting and I also like the information you have given. Never too late to learn just a problem remembering it all!!

So much thought, skill and planning goes into your work Lewis, you bring a whole new angle to POL! Loved the Dickens and love this.

Super surprise here Lewis great representation

Not a character I am familiar with but keep up your good habits (see what I did there?!)

A lovely painting Lewis, can we have a Sean Connery version as well please 😁

Was he related to the Hound of the Baskervilles? It's a pity he looks like my husband.

Thanks for your comments. Sorry Linda D, I won't being doing a Sean Connery version, unless I use him for my Miss Marple (that might be interesting). And Linda W, some people think the author calling him Baskerville was a nod towards the Sherlock stories, and what a distinguished looking husband you must have.

Wonderful character, Lewis, and great story. Brian

Enjoyed that film Lewis. A great Brother William.

A real smasher, Lewis. It sounds an intriguing story!

One I am not familiar with Lewis so thank you for the explanation, I think I would be a little nervous being questioned by brother William as he seems to know already. Its that look Lewis. brilliant again.

For my Slew of Sleuths group. In case you aren't familiar with him...in the 14th century, Brother William, a Franciscan Monk, attends a council at an Italian Monastery. Monks begin to be murdered, the respected William of Baskerville is given the task of investigating the murders. Time is short because he knows the dreaded Inquisition have also been summoned (he despises them). Umberto Ecco's book is a riveting read, and an excellent movie was made from it.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
