What a character! A stunning work Lewis. I like the contrast between foreground and background.

I love how you get the texture into the face and the detail in the hair. I wonder how long such a thing takes you, it would take me forever.

Another winner Lewis. So much character in this well lived face!

Splendid Lewis. Personally, I loved Ron Moody's "Fagin" but here you've captured the very essence of the character...Nice work.

Wow, that's impressive Lewis.

This has lots of character Lewis. His eyes really engage you.

Stunning drawing Lewis..

Wonderful drawing Lewis. but I see what you mean - he looks too kind to be Fagin.

A magnificent drawing Lewis, I think his expression is a little too kind for Fagin but a marvellous piece never the less.

Wow. This is a superb drawing, Lewis.

Thanks everybody for your encouraging comments, I'm glad some of you agree he isn't quite Fagin. That's what I think, I'll try again sometime and try to get the idea in my head down on paper. As it is, I like it as a drawing, but as I said, it isn't Fagin.

Whether it's Fagin or not it's a brilliant work of art

Great skilled drawing Lew.

Superb again Lewis! He could do with looking a bit more furtive for a Fagin, this chap looks a kindly fella.

Irresistible black and white contrast which has an instant impact on the viewer. I'm hypnotised by the hairy areas, so many lines!

Wow, the work that goes into these is admirable, but the hair and beard are brilliant.

Fantastic Lewis, It truly is! I did comment on this before but for some reason it didn't register.

Splendid. As ha been mentioned, great textures and contrasts.

Great drawing Lewis 😊

I don't want to copy an Alec Guinness photo. I like it as a drawing, but it isn't Fagin. A3 sketchbook, Pen & ink.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
