Beautiful so fresh that colour. We are changing all the time Lewis. Even when you take a snap of someone, the next can seem quite different. Expression and fall of the light transform quite apart from age. Picasso was told about a portrait he painted that it did not look like the sitter. To which he replied “it will do.” Thanks for sharing the background to your images it give so much more interest.

Thanks for your comments John. I like to hear the background to what people are doing, so I feel obliged to supply mine...I just hope I'm not waffling on too much.

I didn't know that Picasso said that :) This one is such a happy painting. Both are super. The boys will love them even more when they're older. Family memories.

Lovely fresh feel, with a hint of youthful exuberance captured so well.

Great idea, well painted, Lewis

My grandson Freddie, he was nearly 5 when this was done, and mad-keen on pirates. The face was from a photo, obviously the rest was made up. It was a good likeness at the time, but he's changed quite a bit since. This, and a similar one of his brother Archie, have just come down off my wall...as they are now a little out of date. Watercolour 12 x 16 inches.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
