Definitely “ Last Tango in Huddersfield “ . Wonderful expressions .

You have captured the pose and facial expressions brilliantly. I love those yellow and red shoes and socks. Super painting Lewis.

Wow, wish we had a seniors’ club like that! Excellent poses Lew and I like the way you’ve given the dancers the colour but greyed out the band and watchers. Nice one.

Brilliant and beautifully painted Lew.

Wonderful, Lewis - excellent drawing and colours and so funny!

Brilliant, Lewis, great expressions, and love the vibrant colours.

Smashing! I miss my jiving!!!

Brilliant poses - well researched. Whilst in Buenos Aires I tried to photograph those crucial moments in the Tango, but failed miserably, but you have captured them beautifully.

It has all been said, and as you say, we are our own harshest critics!

Like the concept and the way you have used the colour and black & white combinations. Have to confess - not a hobby/activity that I ever got around to !! The scourge of having 2 left feet

Amidst the frivolity, the expression on the face of the gentleman in the blue suit captures the spirit of the tango so, so well.

Fabulous expressions!

Really excellent and lively. I also like the the muted foreground figures which with the brilliance of those on the dance floor almost get overlooked but are great themselves.

Magical Lew, says it all. I can hear La Cumparsita playing. (-:

Such elegance and poise Lew 😂. Everyone a winner!

Wish I had that energy Lewis. You certainly chose the right dance for passion and movement. Love it Lewis.

Wonderful expressions.

Fantastic Lewis....great work.

'Every one a gem' as far as I'm concerned Lewis.

Such a great composition with the band in black and the foreground figures in grey to make the dancers stand out. Love all the dancers’ poses and their expressions. Looks like the dancer in the hat has hands full and is maybe struggling to keep hold of her. Brilliant.

Every part of it brilliant, Lewis. Can’t stop looking and smiling.

Well, thanks to all for the positive feedback. I wasn't happy with this, and had it ear-marked for my 'paint on the back' pile of pictures.

It has all been said Lewis. You have not only produced the daily chuckle but posted a very good painting with great foreground figures and band.

Nothing more to add the comments say it all, well done.

Did this a couple of months ago. Didn't like it. Had another look...not quite as bad as I thought. Not being satisfied is part of the art process, I guess. Mixed media...w/clr, pen, coloured pencil and tiny bits of gouache.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
