Once more I find your work quite enthralling .

Thanks for your kind words, Sylvia. I wasn't expecting any response just yet...but you must be an early-bird, like me.

I am Lewis .

A real glowering character. Excellent.

Quality Characterisation Lewis.

So very very good Lewis, another wonderful character drawn superbly

A superb piece of work of a very complex character.

Excellent piece of artwork Lewis, you have really caught the character and the background works a treat.

Well what can I say... It's a great story and this illustration is just incredibly well drawn Lew - these deserve to be seen by a wider audience!

Well Lew this is another of your excellent drawing from your skilled hands and clever brain. Using the blue has added a mysterious look , and Ahab look like he is verging on insanity. Brilliant work , as we always get from the LC pen .

Brilliant. Lovely drawing. Your very clever

I notice his eyes in particular, Lewis ( the detail elsewhere is excellent as usual ). But those eyes look so real - calculating and shrewd.

Great characterisation and the “blue” adds to the atmosphere of the whole drawing.

Think this is how most people imagine Ahab just like your character ! Excellent Lewis.

Terrific Characterisation Lew. A man obsessed.

He looks a bit scary Lewis, it’s been so many years since I saw the film, I’ve forgotten the plot, nothing unusual about that though, as I seem to forget quite a lot of things these days 😀

Excellent work Lewis as always.

Terrific work Lewis.

Thanks to everybody for your very encouraging comments. Hugely appreciated.

You have brought his tale to life in your Ahab character Lewis ….super.

Enthralling, Lewis, just as the story, so real

Wonderful characters Lew.

I've already had a couple of goes at Ahab. A complex character. No doubt I'll try again at some point...I didn't want to copy an actor who's played him in a movie. This is in my 'Blue A3 sketchbook'. A book I reserve for more complete drawings in blue. In fact this is a combination of blue and black coloured pencils, apart from the sky, which is a watercolour wash (I see no point in using up time and pencils for areas like that.)

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
