Lovely painting Keith

hi Keith :-) this is a change :-p very good drawing, you have a lot of talent :-)

Dogs don't pose - snap 'em quick with a digital camera; though even then, one won't cooperate with the other. Good drawing - do larger audiences beckon for the future?

Brilliant drawing, you have caught the moment perfectly, and the dogs look as if they are listening to the music and thinking, yeah, not bad. Well done.

A lovely drawing Keith, the dogs must really appreciate the music they look caught up in the moment. Great expressions.

Thank you all for your kind comments, I really enjoyed drawing this it took me about 30 hours because it was such a large piece but I found it rewarding. I have talked about drawing planes which I also enjoyed but I think people and pets may be the subjects I can relate to much better. The problem with this is children can be good subjects but you cant point a camera at them so it has to be someone you know and it can be a little contrived as this was. The dogs were photographed on several occasions I must have taken 20 pictures before I was able to use 3 as reference photos, it was fun..

:-) i think whatever subject you enjoy you should paint :-) no matter what others think.

Really well captured attitude of the boys's body - you have to get that absolutely right to make a portrait authentic and you have done just that. Extremely well drawn and excellent work.

Pencil and crayon drawing size 16"x23". I have finally caught up with my new work, finished this yesterday. This is my nephew Jack again who is always happy to model for me (the dogs were a nightmare). He was given a guitar for Christmas and is learning to play it. When I started the drawing I had the dogs looking lovingly up at him but somewhere along the line I shifted the line of vision and I was afraid to make alterations in case I spoiled the paper.
