I'm not surprised he was angry as it is probably contrary to his religion - graven images and all that. If that is why he was angry, then he would be even more angry if he new that you had made his image public. However he might have been less angry if you had offered him money. However, it is a good watercolour portrait.

In response to your comment Linda, I asked him first and he seemed ok with me taking his photo, but maybe he didn't understand. Other men nearby, who I took to be relatives, rushed over to calm him and told me in a friendly manner to leave. I offered money but they laughed and said no no it's all ok. Please let me know if you think I should remove this painting.
