This technique certainly creates smashing textures Kathy. I like the composition of this lovely piece and the action you have shown in the figures.

Reply to Derek. Thanks for your comment. It's quite difficult to get movement in figures especially when you are working from photographs as this one was. With this method the paint can be moved around and manipulated as it doesn't sink into the surface, this allows for a more expressive painterly effect.
