Edelweiss by Justin Hill

I really love this. Have been looking at it for weeks trying to decide what it is that appeals so much but still can't make up my mind whether it's the contrast or the soft furriness of the petals. The light is done extremely well.

Thanks Diana, your comments mean alot. The edelweiss is a flower thats pretty special to me. It's only found in the high alpine areas of the Alps and is such a delicate flower to thrive in such harsh conditions. I was a Mountain Leader in the Royal Marines so it was good to paint such an iconic image.

Well portrayed picture that shows thier beautiful fuzzieness. Once I had this alpine in my collection but their care got in the way of holidays...
