June this looks brilliant, it's hard to believe that this is your first acrylic work. Funnily enough I have just ordered some acrylic paints to try as I've not used them either, hope my first effort turns out so well!

Thank you all for your comments. I couldn't believe it either. No drawing straight in with the brush, but Tom is a very good teacher I think, I just hope I can keep it up - its a bit scary at first.
