Looking with a painters eye, the grass is stunning; it was worth the effort. The fur is good too, with lots of varied in the different lengths of hair.

I think you've answered a question I asked on your portrait of Leo - the grasses show a technique which you just can't do alla prima. Apollo is ready to play - and get his lovely white fur in a complete, muddy mess.

Once again the dog is nicely incidental to the scene (if you see what I mean) as all the components of the painting have been executed with equal care without a main subject being emphasised. I like this idea and it is one that you should definitely pursue.
