Great scene Jenny. It reminds me of those old, railway tourist posters which are worth a fortune now.

Splendid work, in your unique style. I especially like your treatment of the water.

Lovely work Jenny, I like the strong tonal archways and tree. That creates a super focal point in an almost Illustration style painting which is very refreshing.

Thanks very much, Carole, Lewis and Alan for your encouraging comments. I love the old style tourist posters, especially those done as lino cuts - I was looking recently at the POL article on Walter Spradbery's lino cut posters, and love his work. I seem to have gradually fallen into an illustrative style using pen and ink with watercolour, and find it really difficult now to work any other way, so maybe I've found my style!

Not surprised at all that you sell these paintings Jenny, they are stylish and modern.

Thanks, Fiona! (The little local gallery is just a couple of minutes walk from the river, so is in an ideal position to attract passers by, and people do like to buy scenes they're familiar with.)

Pen and ink / Watercolour. This is a local scene I've painted several times before and they all sold at the little gallery in the town where I get my framing done, so thought I might as well do another, although I've tried to vary the composition and style each time so they don't look like copies.
