River Mole at Leatherhead

The composition and style go very well together.

I like this a lot Jenny. Beautifully done.

It is a lovely illustration Jenny.

It's a great style Jenny, very different and distinctive and I love the vibrancy of the colours 😀

I think the yellows give the painting vibrancy and I love your illustrative style Jenny.

Thanks very much Tony, Margaret, Alan, Linda and Carole for your welcome comments. (I didn't mention it in my notes, but I'm not happy with the shape of the tree top right - it looks too 'blocky', but as no-one has pointed it out, maybe it's not as obvious as I thought. I should know by now, though, that if I'm not happy with something at the compositional stage, it's not going to look any better when painted!)

excellent Jenny beautifully drawn

Thanks David, much appreciated.

I do like this Jenny. As we don’t know how the colours were intended ,it works well.

Many thanks, Sylvia. (Although I start out with an idea of which colours I want to use, I never really plan anything, just work it out as I go along!)

Good style, love the clean lines, works well.

Just love it, Jenny. That green gold is beautiful, not overdone at all in my opinion!

Jenny this looks super! I like all the colours very much. I think we all fret about work we do and we are never really satisfied but you have nothing to worry about with this one, its fab!

Many thanks, Chris, Thalia, Margaret and Dawn! (Margaret, yes, I'm sure we do all fret a bit too much and are usually own worst critics, but maybe it's not a bad thing if it encourages us to keep striving to improve.)

Jenny, don’t change a thing, it’s perfect. Beautiful colours and shapes.....unique.

Thanks Fiona, for your lovely comment. I really do appreciate all the encouraging feedback I've had on this one (but that tree on the right still bothers me every time I look at it!)

Fantastic piece of work...I love it.

Thanks Lewis, much appreciated.

Hang on Studio Wall

Watercolour 7" x 9". A local scene I've painted a few times before but thought I'd try it in a more illustrative style. (Painted in artificial light - when I looked at it daylight realised it was maybe a bit too yellow where I'd used so much green gold!)
