I knew a Spinone once called, Emma. They really are the lovliest dogs. This one looks equally charming. Super portrait - I do like the way that one eye is clearly visible and the other is shadowed by hairs - just that little air of mystery adds a certain something to the portrait. The ear flaps are wonderfully done as well, so velvety and smooth. Super.

What a beautiful dog. Very well done and I love your colour shades.

I have never seen a Spinone at all before. It's certainly a lovely portrait of him/ her.Beautifully done you should be well pleased with this.

Excellent painting: he reminds me of a Victorian gentleman, with heavy whiskers - in fact, he reminds me of a particular Victorian gentleman, Russian I think, whose name I shall now struggle all night to remember.... A very handsome dog, anyway. And I want one....

Thank you all for your favourable comments. They are most encouraging and something I did not expect as this is the first picture I have managed to load on to the site. I have done several pastel dogs for friends before, but I was particularly pleased with this result.
