Looking across the land from Wainstalls

Although I don't know the view, I can imagine it perfectly from your painting Helen. The foreground dark is very daring, but works a treat. And the oh so difficult greens are stunning, particularly against the violet hills and sky. Congratulations.

I like this as the sun is shining enticingly on the bright green fields, love the distant hills Helen.

No advice Helen - unless you mean we can ask for it. It's a magical rendering of a scene that can so easily be a cliché, but that you've imbued with mystery and poetry.

Good feeling of distance here Helen, as Sharon has said, the greens work very well.

Thank you Sharon, Carole, Kim and Stephen for your comments they are very encouraging.

Helen, I've recently been trying to capture exactly what you have painted here, beautiful vista with lots of space. I didn't do very well but now I can see from this how it should be done.

Fiona I am lost for words. I'm glad my painting has given you some ideas though. Thank you. I'm going to have another go and try to improve further.

Great feeling of sunlight on the fields in the centre

Superb use of light and shade. I have enjoyed looking at your portfolio. You are a talented artist.

Good work Helen! very atmospheric. Lovely shades of green.

Thank you Nicola, Jacqueline and Mark you made my day.

Sometimes, Helen, I see a view like that and want to describe it to someone else but you have to see it to really feel the emotions it conjures up. However, having your painting to hand would be the next best thing. Well done. This reminds me of Welsh border country west of Hereford....lovely.

Hang on Studio Wall

I see these views and want to commit the feeling they evoke to paper but it is very difficult. Those lovely bright green patches of light in grey green surroundings. An attempt anyway.10" x 14" Saunders Waterford 300lb rough. Lemon yellow, phthalo blue, sap green, hookers green and permanent rose. Advice welcome.
