Lovely work Fran, super texture on the old, knarled foreground tree, the lighter tones in the background create a good feeling of depth.

Superb handling of the medium Fran. I'm struggling with getting to grips with oils myself at the moment.

Love the way the bark is painted, and the twigs suggested without labouring them.

I am very happy to advise this painting has been accepted for the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition 2017 at the Mall Galleries in March. This was painted en plein air over two days because of the light changing (see the full story on my website). Oil on board, 30 x 20 cm.
