A happy pair who have had a hard life. Lovely Fiona

You can almost hear them groaning from the icy blast Dennis! Thank you!

Hi fiona, you have such a recognizable style and palette that there is no need to read your name. Very nice painting.

I do like your minimalistic landscapes Fiona . I know the expression "less is more" is a bit trite, but in this case it is and it works beautifully .

Agree with Cesarean, recognisable instantly, love it.

Reminds me of North Norfolk coast all the trees are like this there

That tree on the right must be me then, I've had a hard life! This really is minimalist and it's a delightful watercolour, as we are all told, 'keep it simple', and it works Fiona.

It was hiding in the corners, so glad it came out, Fiona. So cold and beautiful!

Brrr, cold and windy!

Lovely to be next door to you Fiona

Well done on getting on the top line! Looks very cold and realistic, hope it's not a sign of things to come! Just one little point, I was told when learning to avoid edges of things coincidinding. In this case the top of the right hand tree 'coinciding' with the top of the distant hill, better to have the tree a little bigger or smaller, not a criticism but a hint.

Missed this yesterday but just seen it in the top Gallery, it has a wonderful windswept chilly feel and the ultra marine works beautifully.

Another lovely pen and wash Fiona. Those are definitely weather worn trees.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when you opened your bag Fiona. This just captures perfectly the harshness of winter.

Reminds me of the trees growing on Southerness golf course, virtually sideways. Really well painted Fiona, you can almost feel the cold wind whistling through the trees.

Thanks ever so much everyone for all your lovely comments!

Good point Stephen, why is it I see this, only when it's pointed out...thanks Stepehen!

Marjorie, it would have made you blush had you been there....the air was as blue as the paint!!lol

How did I miss this? I like the trees how they are leaning in prevailing winds and the drifting snow Fiona. The bits blue certainly came in useful😉

Thanks very much Carole!

An amazing painting Fiona, I love your paintings, so stylish :)

Sorry, the photo is rubbish, not enough light. 16" x 12" Pen & wash, u. marine, b. umber, and a splash each of r. umber and b. sienna. I was out painting a couple of days ago and put a squeeze of lovely fresh ultra marine in my palette, did my painting, packed my stuff up and went home. Unpacked my bag and opened my palette to dry off.....well that lovely squeeze of U. marine had run into every other pan in the box! Managed to scrape out most of it but painted this to use up all the rest hiding in the corners!lol
