Cairnsmore in Pink!
14x11 pastel on old piece of practice paper. Would you believe this is the same view as yesterday's posting, only further away. It was done very quickly in about 10-15 mins, the sunset was reflecting off the snow on Cairnsmore and was glowing pink. The very dark areas are plantations of spruce part of the Galloway forest sand they really did look this dark, had to use black as I only grabbed a handful of pastels, so had to use what I had. That's why the line of blue and sienna scribble, mid distance.....which are also tree plantations look odd. The blue again are spruce and the sienna are a birch plantation. This scribble shows a more distant view, I was further away than yesterday's and behind glass from the sitting room.
