Very good Fiona, love this kind of work you produce, beautifully executed.

Lovely ink and pastel -simple design and good colours, Fiona- I can't see the disaster!

Nothing went wrong Fiona, it's lovely!

Love it Fiona this is so nice. Hmmmn I feel the grey lady working through you here made me shivery now I will be scared to go to bed

A disaster averted Fiona, this has turned out to be a little beauty, love the sky colour which shows off the lighter tower to its advantage. Well drawn trees also, excellent atmosphere to it as well.

Like the bold composition, Fiona, especially the colour of the sky which emphasises so well the ghostly tower!

I agree with all comments, and the blue sky gives mystery to the scene. Good worked, Fiona.

Great painting Fiona! It feels a bit spooky after having read the story but I don't see any disaster, it's really good.

Thank you so much everyone! The dark sky was an addition, I'll post the original at some point so you can see the disaster.
Dennis you will have to sleep with the light on tonight!lol

Nothing wrong here - a lovely image

Is that the Grey Lady in the second window down one wonders :))), the blue sky gives this a very brooding look and the tangle of foliage in front is the enchanted wood keeping you from the tower!, oh dear Fiona I think I have been away to long. But seriously, I think this is yet another really nice piece of work, nice one.

Nice painting Fiona like the way you are looking through the tree's it gives better depth lovely job

It's a good piece Fiona I like the mood in it , and I've found in the past that sometimes a painting I feel has failed , turns into a gem because I will try something different to rescue it and now and then it works beautifully .....
Thanks a lot for the happy marble memories , long before Wi -fi :)

Thank you Michael, Malcolm, Dennis, and Dermot for your kind comments, always appreciated.

Not a wrong'un Fiona. a treat and how mistakes work very well, if that's what you did.

The sky gives this such a lot of impact Fiona! I can almost see the ghost!

Not a disaster at all Fiona! Its a great picture and the story behind it just adds to the atmosphere.

Many thanks Sarah, Derek and Chandra for your feedback.

There is a great atmosphere in this Fiona, really like your bold use of colour and the light falling on the tower.

It's all been said. Love the colours, text and composition.

Mixed media 24"x16". Not far from where I live, hidden in amongst the trees and easily missed, is Sorbie Tower. It dates from the 16th century and is mostly a ruin now but it is said to be still inhabited.....by the Grey Lady, well every good ruin has a ghost! I think she must have had some influence on this because although the ink drawing went fairly well, the remainder of it went drastically wrong! I've used printing ink, Quink ink, Indian ink and pastel...and then I wonder why it went wrong, what a recipe.lol
