Yes, as if by magic it has moved and it works there, but maybe you should stop it flying? I'm impressed though. The tree is excellent and I am sure you can anchor it down, seeing as you were able to move it! Does that make any sense at all???? I'm not sure now. All I know is that the tree, flying or not, is now directing you to the windmill. Lovely.

Magic walking tree!. You've done a good job of transplanting it. I like the twisted bottom branches.

Lol! Gudrun, you've just given me the biggest laugh of the day.......thank you! A magic moving tree and it can fly too! I'll see what I can do regarding planting it, I won't re-post though. Thank you Kevin, really appreciate your comment.

I think that works better - and it does give the depth and scale that was a bit missing before.

Well done, Fiona. I think that's great.

Thank you Robert. Yes, it's better but still not quite right.......I might have another go. How's the windmill coming on?

Thanks for having another look and your kind words Lionel.

Hi Fiona, thank you so much for your new year greetings! Yes, it is the year of the horse! I haven't been on the site for a while thanks to all the chinese new year preparations, so please excuse me for not having commented on your paintings. I'll be back once all this new year madness dies down. Thanks again!

Glennis thank you for taking a look. Seok, I look forward to seeing lots of New Year celebration themed paintings from you, when everything has calmed down.

I really like version 2 as well. I think you have wonderful skill with a pen and (unlike me!) you can keep the washes simple and effective. A lovely pen and wash.

Haven't had a crack at the windmill yet, Fiona - I painted an old ruined windmill, as a book illustration, some time ago, but being ruined it didn't have sails (thank goodness....) -if you want to see it, it should be on Lulu.com, The Windmill Mystery by Peter Duddigan. I'll have a go eventually - I'm having one of my what-on-earth-do-I-paint-now episodes at the moment.....; frustrating or what...?

PS - if you want to stop your tree flying, just blend it out a bit at the base; then when it's dry, go in with your usual colours to indicate grasses.

At last the gallery is back on line! Whilst I had lots of time to spare on the computer I tracked down your book illustration Robert. It's a very fitting image to go with the title, lots of mystery about your painting. Thanks for having another look and your advise.

Really beautifully done, Fiona! I love the way the tree leads the eye to the windmill.

Even better. Isn't it nice that we can make trees move? Even jump over walls. Well done on the improvements.

As if by magic, I have moved the tree to this side of the wall to bring it forward a little, I hope it is a small improvement. Thank you Robert for your observation.
