Alan’s Daily Quick Sketch….. by Fiona Phipps

Comments

It's not rubbish Fiona, I rather like it!

Thanks Heather, you are very kind. I’m sure if I spent more than 10 minutes my efforts would be much improved…🤞😂

I like the textures on the engine Fiona. I used to sketch all the time, at home on the train to work etc. but didn't sustain it. Would like to try again - good on you for getting on with it!

Oh a beauty Fiona- love the marks you make and the mixed media, it works so very well and enough of this ‘it’s rubbish’ business it’s fab as is all your work! 🌞🧚‍♂️😼

Nicely done for 15 minutes. Onward and upward!

Sarah, Rachel, Andrew……a big thank you. You are very kind to encourage me, I’ve done todays sketch and hopefully I have redeemed myself from this posting!😂 Thank you again. X

Credit where it’s due Fiona, nice little engine.

Thanks very much Cheryl, John, Carole your encouraging comments are much appreciated. I don’t think I was truly inspired by the subject to be honest 🤔

Brilliant for 15 minutes. You have a lovely drawing style.

I really like the combination of the walnut ink and pastel Fiona. I’m beginning to use walnut ink and find it works better than black in many situations.

Diane, John……thank you both very much for your comment. I agree John, I like the walnut ink, not quite as severe as Indian ink.

S&B sketchbook, walnut ink, soft pastel, Conte pencil Following Alan’s example of a daily sketch…..he said try it for a month! I’ve failed already after only three days 😕 this is yesterday’s. Fifteen minutes, rubbish perspectives…..again. Haven’t a clue what it is, some kind of engine, Coatbridge heritage centre.
