Shoogly Fence

Comments

It may be my screen but the image looks darker than in the flesh.

Good work, Fiona, spontaneous and free.

I like a shoogly fence also Fiona, and this is a good one! I never heard the term before I get the idea and I like the dark tones, intended or not. 👍🏻

That's a great word! Love your painting too, like your signature hints of blue as always!

Love the colours, well done.

Superb work Fiona , like you can’t help admiring a good fence the do make such interesting subjects. Love the colours you have used .

Super subject for a sketch Fiona. Full of natural wildness and has such a country feel to it.

Very nicely done, Fiona. There is a freedom of expression here!

Really like that ink Fiona and the touches of blue work very well. I say more shoogly fences!

A stunning sketch Fiona-and just love the colour combination

Had to Google that one Fiona. Very nice expressive piece.

I have never heard the term before either but what a lovely onomatopoeic word and what a lovely painting of one too!

So effective and so wellpainted!

Shoogly, a much better word to describe this fence than wobbly, shakey etc. I had never heard it previously but will use it for anything shoogly from now on. Thank You Fiona.

Not odd at all just read what Constable said about his beloved surroundings, I rather like things with character and old worldly charm! This one fits the bill just nicely, lots of charm! Nice one.😉

Cesare, Tessa, Sarah, Stephen, Paul, Carole, spend, George, John, Rachel, Andrew, Heather, David, William……..thank you all ever so much for your positive feedback, always appreciate reading your comments. George, glad you like and will use this Scottish word, it fits so well doesn’t it. Thank you.

Good composition Fiona I like the diagonal fence, also great contrasts.

Thank you very much Carole!

Encre Sennelier Burnt Sienna ink, watercolour and a dash of oil pastel on Stillman & Burn paper. I find it difficult to pass a shoogly fence without stopping and admiring its beauty, odd yes, but don’t they make great subjects for a sketch.
