Crazy Coastline

Comments

A great fun piece, you could spend hours trying to spot things.

Well you had fun.Lots to look at Fiona.

I'm still looking for the wicker Man, with my poor eyesight. lol..nice crazy coastal painting...fiona

Can’t find him...🙃

Its different Fiona. There's a touch of klimt in the square mark making. Lovely mark making and the contrast between square and circular shapes adds great interest.

Thanks Jacqueline, I was hoping it would come over as a bit of fun. Thanks very much Sylvia, we are due a bit of lighthearted nonsense, we deserve it! You can’t be looking in the right place! Lol. Glad you like it Lesley, I don’t know what came over me.....lol. Thank you. Stevan, thank you for your lovely feedback. I didn’t want to paint what I was looking at in the traditional fashion, i took the basic elements and threw them together. A bit of fun really.

It certainly is fun and I always like your colours Fiona!

Well, this is fascinating Fiona, I haven’t spotted him yet. Lots to look at, great fun!

I love this, abstract yet detailed, a strong statement, Fiona

What fun! Love the painting!

This is different, Fiona, it caught my eye straight away, love its abstract nature, colours and marks. (I can’t see the Wickerman either, do we get a clue?)

Looks like an Ariel view, and then again not, so challenging to my little brain, but great fun and interesting line work Fiona. I can’t see your wicker man either, but perhaps he’s burnt away!

No Wickernan, but taking it as an abstract design it works superbly! Some interesting scribbling going on ...

Really like this piece Fiona.

You know me Fiona I don't go much for abstract, but I do like this, its all nicely balanced!!

I love this abstract, Fiona. It caught my eye immediately. Beautiful combination of colours, and just those small touches of red just adds to it.

Who needs the real world Fiona. I would much rather stick to the artists view. Lovely work.

Thank you everyone for taking a look at this bit of nonsense and your comments. I hope it kept you entertained for a few minutes looking for The Wickerman. Tessa is right, all that is left is a pile of ashes, it was there when I posted it! Lol 😂

Love the shapes, lines and movement in this one Fiona and am always partial to a bit of 'crazy' : )

Thank you Diane, I enjoyed playing about with this.

Couldn't find the Wicker man either Fiona, but I love the (dare I say) quirkyness of this, brilliant painting,

A touch of Hundertwasser here for me very nice Fiona

You can say anything you like David.....I like quirky! Thank you. Justin, that’s an artist I had to look up! Very interesting and colourful work.....thanks very much.

So much to like in this Fiona - the more you look the moor you see.

Thanks very much Shaun, I may have another go at this kind of thing, I enjoyed the freedom of the non-traditional style.

16”x14” watercolour, oil pastel and chinagraph. In the real world, this is a view from the Isle of Whithorn looking over towards Burrowhead. If you were looking towards Burrowhead in 1973 you would have seen the giant effigy of The Wickerman being burnt. This isn’t from the real world but I have added Burrowhead in the distance and if you look closely, you may make out the Wickerman!
